Overview
The Phoenix Symphony is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Communications Assistant to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in supporting our communication strategies, enhancing our brand presence, and engaging with our audience across various platforms. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of creativity and analytical skills, contributing to both content creation and performance analysis.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan and execute overall social marketing plan for the Symphony.
- Develop and implement integrated “out-bound” communication strategies to promote the Symphony’s concerts, events, and programs.
- Oversee the creation and execution of marketing social media.
- Analyze market trends and audience insights to inform marketing decisions and strategies.
- Monitor digital metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of digital initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
- Create compelling email content to drive ticket sales and donations, working in collaboration with teams
- Build and manage targeted lists and automations including marketing messaging and pre/post-concert communications
- Create and design email templates
- Analyze market trends and audience insights to inform marketing decisions and strategies.
- Monitor digital metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of digital initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
- Work with the team to ensure consistent and effective branding across all marketing and communication materials.
- Enhance the orchestra’s brand identity and reputation through strategic messaging.
- Oversee the development of branding guidelines and ensure adherence across the organization.
Symphony Storytelling
- Develop storytelling strategies to increase audience engagement, retention, and growth.
- Manage the creation of engaging content, including blogs, newsletters, and other social assets.
Team Engagement
- Represent the marketing team at performances and events to engage audience members and tell the Symphony story
- Engage and contribute to a collaborative, innovative, forward-thinking work environment that encourages growth, advancing the Symphony to deliver results.
- Develop and implement integrated “out-bound” communication strategies to promote the Symphony’s concerts, events, and programs.
- Oversee the creation and execution of marketing social media.
- Analyze market trends and audience insights to inform marketing decisions and strategies.
- Monitor digital metrics and analytics to assess the effectiveness of digital initiatives and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and/or Communications preferred, and a minimum of 1-3 years related experience in the arts and entertainment industry
- Superb writing and storytelling skills, with strong copywriting experience
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Meta, and social platforms: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn
- A relentless data-driven approach to everything marketing; familiarity with Google Analytics, Audience View, and other tracking tools preferred
- Familiarity with email platforms and HTML required
- Demonstrated ability to simultaneously think strategically and creatively
- Outstanding prioritization and communication skills with the ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects at once, interact with a broad variety of internal departments and external entities, manage and traffic multiple priorities
- Results-oriented team player with the ability to initiate and independently drive programs
- Successful record of accomplishment in marketing for an arts audience preferred
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
- Adobe Suite programs knowledge a plus
- The ability to work occasional concert duty as assigned on nights and weekends is required
- Knowledge and love of symphonic music a plus
- Passion for local non-profits and cultural community a plus
