What are the responsibilities and job description for the Watch Engineer position at The Pierre, A Taj Hotel, New York?
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the hotel's power plant including boilers, chillers, air compressors and related equipment in order to supply heat, air-conditioning, steam, water and related mechanical services in sufficient quantities to meet the hotel's needs.
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal. NYC Refrigeration License and Operating License required. Minimum 5 years hotel, commercial, or hospital environment as an engineer.
- Must be a team player and be engaging with guests and colleagues.
- Must have the ability to anticipate the guests needs and go above and beyond to provide five-star level service.
- Experience on all types of HVAC and large mechanical related systems including electrical, steam lines and generators. Standpipe/sprinkler COF from Fire Department.

- EPA Universal Certification for handling & Recovery of Refrigeration
- Refrigeration Operating Engineer Q-01 and Q-99
- Certification of Fitness, S12 City Wide Sprinkler System
- Certification of Fitness, S13 City wide Standpipe System
- Certification of Fitness to operate Air Compressor, 635 or most current type.
- Certification of Fitness, S14 Multiple standpipe system
- Category 7G cooling tower
