About the Position: Pre-K Assistant Teacher
Our teachers have the freedom to create a dynamic and engaging classroom environment while receiving the tools and support necessary to succeed. As a Preschool Teacher, you will facilitate the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of a group of young children.
Responsibilities Include:

Organize and lead activities that promote physical, mental, and social development, such as arts and crafts, music, storytelling, and games.

Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects.

Foster a respectful, nurturing, and accepting classroom environment.

Observe and assess children's performance, behavior, and development.

Enforce rules for behavior and procedures to maintain a safe, structured classroom.

Adapt teaching methods to meet the varying needs and interests of students.

Attend to children’s basic needs, such as feeding, dressing, and diapering, as age-appropriate.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss progress, set goals, and encourage continued learning at home.
Physical Requirements:

Frequent sitting, with occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.

Ability to lift/move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus.
Schedule & Environment:

Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Extended hours may be necessary to cover staffing needs.
- Local travel may occasionally be required for training and staff development activities.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet HHS minimum education and experience requirements
Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior teaching experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Meet minimum age, education, background check and medical qualifications for caregivers established by DFPS Licensing
- Complete annual training required by DFPS Licensing
- Maintain Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
- If transporting children, Class C driver license with clear Department of Public Safety record and two hours of transportation training annually.
