About the Position: Full-Time Assistant Teacher
Our Assistant Teachers play an important role in creating a nurturing and inspiring learning environment. You’ll work closely with the Lead Teacher to support the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of young children.
What You’ll Do:

Lead activities that promote learning and development through games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.

Foster a classroom culture of respect, patience, and acceptance.

Maintain a safe and loving environment.

Adapt teaching methods to meet each child’s unique needs and interests.

Assist with daily tasks such as greeting children, helping with outerwear, and transitioning them into the classroom.

Tend to children's basic needs as age-appropriate, including feeding, dressing, and diapering.

Teach essential life skills like proper hygiene and positive eating habits.
Environment & Physical Demands

Engage with children in a dynamic childcare environment daily.

Frequently sit, kneel, crouch, or balance, and lift up to 10-40 pounds as needed.
Schedule
This full-time position operates Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Extended hours may be required to maintain appropriate staffing.
Trav
Local travel may occasionally be required for training and staff development activities.

Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Meet HHS minimum education and experience requirements
Preferred Education and Experience
- Prior teaching experience
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Meet minimum age, education, background check and medical qualifications for caregivers established by DFPS Licensing
- Complete annual training required by DFPS Licensing
- Maintain First Aid/CPR/AED certifications
- If transporting children, Class C driver license with clear Department of Public Safety record and two hours of transportation training annually.
