What are the responsibilities and job description for the Traveling Railroad Bridge Construction Manager position at The Pinnacle Groups?
The Pinnacle Groups have partnered with a small, regional railroad bridge contractor where most of their projects focus on repair and maintenance of steel and concrete structures. Our client is currently hiring an experienced Traveling Construction Manager to oversee projects and crews throughout the Midwest. This individual will ensure effective planning and execution of construction projects. This position is available immediately and offers a working schedule of 2 weeks working and 1 week at home.
Role and Responsibilities: Work hand-in-hand with the project team to create a mutual understanding of the project strategy based on the requirement of the job.
· Conduct in-depth reviews and analysis of all project or contract documents so as to be familiar with every detail and/or requirements.
· Establish a plan and manage safety programs for each project and make sure that all aspects of safety are reached.
· Help in the arrangement and analysis of projects to include budgeting and estimating- obtain all estimates from subs, engineers, equipment rentals, material ordering and scheduling.
· Oversee projects as they are being carried out to make sure that the work is done according to outlined specifications, and that they also conform with project timetable.
· Convey project needs from the crew foreman to internal management.
· Assist in the maintenance, development, and enhancement of the company’s relationship with clients and contractors in a bid to produce strategic partnerships.
Requirements / Qualifications
· Bachelor’s/and or master’s degree in civil, mechanical, or engineering field will be an added advantage.
· At least 5 years on-the-job experience in railroad bridge construction or in a similar role within the bridge construction capacity.
· Prior experience in construction and/or railroad experience is required (5 years min).
· Ability to work and carry out projects within a stipulated time frame or deadline.
· Ability to be proactive and also to foresee events and react appropriately towards them
· The ability to multitask and strategize in different situations is also relevant.
· Must be able to work in all weather conditions, at heights and be physically fit.
· Travel is a requirement for the job.
· Must reside in Missouri or surrounding states.
· Must be able to pass a Federal background check, which is a requirement for our railroad clients.
· Pre-employment drug screening.
