Job Title: Physical Therapy Assistant
SUMMARY:
The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) plays a vital role in supporting our physical therapists and providing exceptional care to our patients. This position is responsible for assisting in therapy treatments, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and contributing to a positive patient experience that sets Pinpoint Rehab apart from other therapy centers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in the implementation of physical therapy treatment plans under the direction of a licensed physical therapist.
- Work directly with patients to provide rehabilitative services and ensure they are progressing with their treatment.
- Help patients with exercises, stretching routines, and mobility activities as prescribed.
- Document patient progress, responses to therapy, and any relevant changes in condition.
- Prepare and maintain patients' charts with accurate and up-to-date information.
- Ensure proper use of therapy equipment and maintain clinic supplies.
- Coordinate with the front desk to schedule patient appointments and communicate important information.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as preparing patient files, processing insurance, and verifying authorizations.
- Provide patients with education on home exercise programs and general self-care.
- Enforce clinic policies and ensure compliance with all safety and hygiene standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Strong knowledge of physical therapy techniques and modalities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with patients and staff.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize patient care.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position operates in a clinical setting, requiring interaction with patients, therapists, and other healthcare staff. The role may require standing, walking, lifting, and assisting with physical therapy exercises.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and assist patients in physical therapy exercises.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and assist with patient transfers as needed.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. The onsite work hours are based on clinic hours and the assigned shift.
TRAVEL:
This position may require travel up to 10% of the time to various locations for patient care, training, or clinic support.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistance or related field.
- Current PTA licensure or certification (as required by state).
- Previous experience working in a physical therapy or healthcare setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare terminology.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems is a plus.
