Job OverviewAs a Quality Engineer Stamping, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving product quality within a high-volume stamping operation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze processes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your ability to pivot between data analysis, problem-solving, and customer interactions will be key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and maintain quality control processes within the stamping department, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality concerns.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to develop and refine process controls that enhance product consistency.
- Utilize statistical process control (SPC) tools to monitor and improve quality metrics.
- Lead internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with ISO and other quality management system (QMS) standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers and customers to resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to quality procedures, inspection protocols, and reporting.
- Train and support team members in best practices for quality assurance and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in quality engineering, preferably within a stamping or metal forming environment.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar standards.
- Proficiency in SPC, root cause analysis, and problem-solving methodologies (8D, Six Sigma, etc.).
- Experience with PPAP, FMEA, and other automotive or manufacturing quality tools.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Familiarity with GD&T and blueprint reading.
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with automated inspection systems and measurement technologies.
- Background in working with automotive or aerospace industry standards.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
