Job Description: 

To lead the Order Fulfillment Team and take ownership of the logistical and physical preparation of all outgoing orders including processing, pulling, staging, and final quality control. Continually improve the order fulfillment process in efficiency, quality, and accuracy to exceed our customers’ expectations. To work as a member of the Pizzo team to achieve our mission and vision. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

Managerial responsibilities:  

  • Manage Seasonal Order Pullers 
  • Onboarding of seasonal staff 
  • Review schedules and timesheets weekly 
  • Approve/decline time off requests 
  • Track attendance, PTO, and other policies 
  • Perform 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day reviews 
  • Perform exit reviews 
  • Oversee Order Fulfillment Lead daily in accomplished all tasks 
  • Oversee Logistics Lead weekly and aid in all shipping responsibilities 
  • Manage Prairie Moon account and work closely with sales team to accomplish all fulfillment and blind shipping needs 
  • Communicate with Production Manager to best allocate labor resources 

Order Fulfillment Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain ongoing communication with Sales Team about new orders, quantity of orders each week, and labor tracking 
  • Understand the customer’s needs and expectations through communication with sales and pull product accordingly 
  • Process all orders through the allocation of crops 
  • Relay any shortages, changes, or updates on outgoing orders to Inventory Coordinator 
  • Direct multiple crews as needed to pull orders  
  • Quality control by checking orders to ensure accuracy and perform the final allocation step 
  • Assist sales team to aid customers and load their order into vehicle 
  • Review upcoming orders with the team to determine the labor/resources needed to execute fulfillment 
  • Direct Order Fulfillment team in maintaining crop organization by providing re-blocking and consolidation lists 

Shipping Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare and print packing lists for scheduling of all 3rd party shipments 
  • Determine best pickup options during peak season 
  • Assist Logistics Lead with scheduling issues  
  • Schedule LTL shipments and monitor tracking throughout the week 
  • Contact carrier when delays or other issues arise 
  • Price compares medium size orders with ground vs LTL to provide customers with the lowest price 
  • Load LTL shipments on Mondays and ensure all paperwork is accurate and attached 
  • Communicate with Sales Team about when deliveries need to go and relay that information to drivers 
  • Load PNPN truck deliveries and provide all necessary paperwork needed 
  • Inform Fleet Manager of any out of state deliveries 48 hours prior to delivery time 
  • Assist with international shipping/US customs documents 
  • Assist Sales Team with quoting shipment costs and finding the lowest rate 

Additional Responsibilities:  

  • Assist with pulling orders as needed 
  • Crosstrain in sales responsibility to fill in when needed 
  • Assist with other production tasks such as covering houses, transplanting, and weeding 
  • Attend nursery related conferences, shows, and any other marketing opportunities 

Qualifications/Skills: 

  • 3-5 years of horticulture experience in inventory, order processing, or shipping 
  • 1-2 years of experience with inventory software  
  • Experience in management position 
  • Commitment to customer satisfaction, product quality, and achieving annual sales goal 
  • Strong communication skills with other departments  
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently 
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task 
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft 
  • Ability to work outside in inclement weather and repeatedly lift 30lbs 
  • Ability to operate machinery such as skid steer or forklift
