Job Description:Â
To lead the Order Fulfillment Team and take ownership of the logistical and physical preparation of all outgoing orders including processing, pulling, staging, and final quality control. Continually improve the order fulfillment process in efficiency, quality, and accuracy to exceed our customers’ expectations. To work as a member of the Pizzo team to achieve our mission and vision.Â

Â
Managerial responsibilities:Â Â
- Manage Seasonal Order PullersÂ
- Onboarding of seasonal staffÂ
- Review schedules and timesheets weeklyÂ
- Approve/decline time off requestsÂ
- Track attendance, PTO, and other policiesÂ
- Perform 30-day, 60-day, and 90-day reviewsÂ
- Perform exit reviewsÂ
- Oversee Order Fulfillment Lead daily in accomplished all tasksÂ
- Oversee Logistics Lead weekly and aid in all shipping responsibilitiesÂ
- Manage Prairie Moon account and work closely with sales team to accomplish all fulfillment and blind shipping needsÂ
- Communicate with Production Manager to best allocate labor resourcesÂ
Order Fulfillment Responsibilities:Â
- Maintain ongoing communication with Sales Team about new orders, quantity of orders each week, and labor trackingÂ
- Understand the customer’s needs and expectations through communication with sales and pull product accordinglyÂ
- Process all orders through the allocation of cropsÂ
- Relay any shortages, changes, or updates on outgoing orders to Inventory CoordinatorÂ
- Direct multiple crews as needed to pull orders Â
- Quality control by checking orders to ensure accuracy and perform the final allocation stepÂ
- Assist sales team to aid customers and load their order into vehicleÂ
- Review upcoming orders with the team to determine the labor/resources needed to execute fulfillmentÂ
- Direct Order Fulfillment team in maintaining crop organization by providing re-blocking and consolidation listsÂ
Shipping Responsibilities:Â
- Prepare and print packing lists for scheduling of all 3rd party shipmentsÂ
- Determine best pickup options during peak seasonÂ
- Assist Logistics Lead with scheduling issues Â
- Schedule LTL shipments and monitor tracking throughout the weekÂ
- Contact carrier when delays or other issues ariseÂ
- Price compares medium size orders with ground vs LTL to provide customers with the lowest priceÂ
- Load LTL shipments on Mondays and ensure all paperwork is accurate and attachedÂ
- Communicate with Sales Team about when deliveries need to go and relay that information to driversÂ
- Load PNPN truck deliveries and provide all necessary paperwork neededÂ
- Inform Fleet Manager of any out of state deliveries 48 hours prior to delivery timeÂ
- Assist with international shipping/US customs documentsÂ
- Assist Sales Team with quoting shipment costs and finding the lowest rateÂ
Additional Responsibilities:Â Â
- Assist with pulling orders as neededÂ
- Crosstrain in sales responsibility to fill in when neededÂ
- Assist with other production tasks such as covering houses, transplanting, and weedingÂ
- Attend nursery related conferences, shows, and any other marketing opportunitiesÂ
Qualifications/Skills:Â
- 3-5 years of horticulture experience in inventory, order processing, or shippingÂ
- 1-2 years of experience with inventory software Â
- Experience in management positionÂ
- Commitment to customer satisfaction, product quality, and achieving annual sales goalÂ
- Strong communication skills with other departments Â
- Ability to work efficiently and independentlyÂ
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi-taskÂ
- Basic understanding of MicrosoftÂ
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather and repeatedly lift 30lbsÂ
- Ability to operate machinery such as skid steer or forkliftÂ
