Job Title: Busser/Dishwasher
Job Overview: The Busser/Dishwasher plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the restaurant environment. This position involves supporting servers by clearing and resetting tables, as well as washing dishes and kitchen utensils to ensure a smooth operation.
Responsibilities:
For Busser:
- Table Maintenance: Clear dirty dishes, glasses, and utensils from tables promptly and efficiently.
- Reset Tables: Clean and set tables for new guests, ensuring proper table settings and cleanliness.
- Assist Servers: Support servers by refilling drinks, delivering food, and providing additional help as needed during service.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Keep the dining area clean and organized, including floors and high-traffic areas.
- Stock Supplies: Ensure that dining areas are stocked with necessary items (napkins, utensils, etc.).
For Dishwasher:
- Wash Dishes: Operate dishwashing machines and hand wash pots, pans, and utensils as needed.
- Sanitize Equipment: Ensure all dishes and kitchen tools are properly cleaned and sanitized according to health standards.
- Organize Clean Dishes: Properly store clean dishes and utensils in designated areas.
- Assist in Kitchen Maintenance: Help maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by cleaning counters, sinks, and food prep areas.
- Waste Management: Empty trash and recycling bins regularly to keep the kitchen and dining area clean.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is a plus but not required.
- Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds).
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
