Location: Needham, MA
WFH situation: Onsite daily either in their Needham office or they will drive to their clients' offices. They are looking for people who generally live between Waltham, Woburn, Wakefield & Medford to support their clients that are north of Boston.

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant with a background in real estate, housing, and non-profit sectors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent accounting skills, an ability to manage financials efficiently, and have a client-centered approach with outstanding communication and relationship-building capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and other relevant regulations. o Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Real Estate & Housing Financial Management:
- Manage financials related to real estate transactions, housing projects, property investments, and associated expenses.
- Handle property accounting, including lease management, property taxes, and escrow accounts.
- Non-Profit Accounting:
- Maintain financials for non-profit organizations, ensuring proper fund accounting, grant tracking, and compliance with 501 (c)(3) regulations.
- Prepare reports for funding agencies, ensuring adherence to donor and regulatory requirements.
Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for clients, addressing financial queries, providing strategic advice, and managing expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring timely communication and reporting.
- General Accounting:
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger maintenance. o Oversee payroll processing and tax filings.
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
- Compliance & Auditing:
- Assist with external audits and internal financial reviews.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations, including tax filings and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on real estate, housing, and non-profit.
- Familiarity with fund accounting and real estate-specific financial principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and tax laws.
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients and priorities.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong client relationship management and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA or working toward certification.
- Experience in financial modeling and reporting for non-profits and real estate projects.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel.
