Job Overview
The Planet Group is seeking a skilled Document Control Specialist to support project document control functions for construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with engineering personnel to guide them on review and record requirements.
- Process engineering and project records, including drawings, manuals, transmittals, and correspondence.
- Update and maintain electronic databases used for tracking and distributing documents.
- Report on activities for daily, weekly, and monthly operating reviews.
- Accurately request controlled document numbers per established numbering conventions.
- Audit records for accuracy and completeness, and lead implementation of corrective actions.
- Provide hard copy documents to projects and Plant Document Control.
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of experience in records management or similar roles.
- Experience with document control software, such as ProjectWise or Primavera Unifier.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work independently.
- Strong analytical and leadership skills.
- Familiarity with SAP and plotter operations.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in clerical, administrative, or document control – drawing or construction document control preferably.
- Database management experience.
- Courses or degrees in Information Science, Data Processing, or Utility/Engineering Construction Document Control.
