I know, I know, you see "florist" and are super excited! Sounds fun! Well, it is fun. however... Here's what you need to know. Our store is very busy & growing! So is our team.

Summary:

We need a floral designer with both design skills, and floral knowledge, but also someone that has plant care knowledge - you'll be working with both cut flowers and plants. You'll be working with everything from wedding flowers to making someone's day with a quick arrangement.

  • Floral knowledge - Floral knowledge is required! We must have a candidate that knows flowers, floral design, cut flower processing and care. We also have a ton of plants in our jungley store, so...
  • Plant knowledge - We want good plant knowledge, and the desire & ability to learn more every single day. You should want to cram your noggin full of planty details, and be able to spill that knowledge to clients that come in.
  • Customer service - This position will be customer facing daily. You will be dealing with very very happy customers buying new plants and planty things, but also helping people who may have killed their new plant friend and are sad or upset about it.
  • Organization & Attention to detail - This team member will be taking care of hundreds of plants daily, in addition to planting out plants for delivery, display, and customers in store. You'll learn SO much as you go.. and that desire to learn is SO huge.
  • Rad people only. You have to be rad. All races, genders, and etc accepted here, both in our team and our clientele. We believe in science, love is love, BLM, equality and human & women's rights, and all those other cool things.
  • Social people only. You have to be friendly and you have to talk to people everyday. We teach lots of onsite and offsite classes so being social and talking to strangers just comes with the territory.
  • Hard-working people only. You have to be able to wear many hats throughout the day. So many different things can happen in a day. We may start the day setting up a wedding in the mountains and then teaching a terrarium class of 12 at the end of the day. Each day is different and that is what makes the job so much fun!

Interview process -

  • 1 hour interview in the store to get to know each the team. The team interviews folks that we're interested in and they choose the best personality, knowledge.

Stuff we care about, and stuff we don't.

  • We don't care if you have tattoos. Bonus points if they're flower or plant tattoos.
  • We do care that you dress professionally. I mean, it's a florist and plant shop and an art gallery, not a high-rise law firm... Simple clothing that can get dirty, but is not crazy. Closed toe shoes. Cover your... bits.
  • We don't care if your hair is green, nor if you don't have any hair at all. Please be well groomed with your mermaid hair or hipster beard, though. We want you to look like you can sell a $700 terrarium (yes, that's a thing) or a $10K wedding. We want them to feel comfortable asking you for help!
  • We do need folks who are 21 or older, this is for insurance purposes. We drive around the city a lot so a valid driver's license, as well as a clean driving record is required. This is so we can do deliveries and pickups as needed around town.
  • YOU MUST have a clean driving record and be able to drive our fleet in Denver AND in the mountains.
  • We don't care if you have a college degree. You're a botanist? Awesome! We love that, and will be really excited to chat with you. You fell in love with learning about plants and flowers after dropping out of high school? GREAT! We want someone bright, with knowledge about what we do, and an awesome and curiosity-filled personality.
  • We care that you're nice. Like, you have to be nice to all the people all walks of life, even the furry ones. We care that you have a fun sense of humor.
