Job description
THE PLASTEK GROUP is seeking Weekend Machine Operators and Floor Workers – Saturdays and Sundays only - ALL Shifts
(Training provided to good candidates without experience.)
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to pass drug screening
- Current drivers license
- Diploma/GED preferred
- Good attendance
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Good reading and interpretation skills
- Computer literacy
- Able to perform basic math functions
- Accurate and Detailed oriented
Preferred Experience:
- Related experience and/or training required
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Floor Person:
· Communicate with both the floorperson in the assigned section from the incoming shift and the outgoing shift. Review the status of presses that are running.
o Make sure that section is clean. If there is a problem with the area, notify the outgoing shift supervisor before they leave. Keep area clean throughout shift.
· Check labels with work order to make sure that everything is correct.
o Including part number, mold, pieces, description, customer name (if required),
o Rev number, box size, bags, cardboard, etc.
o Run your daily requirement of labels (may vary upon location)
· Make sure that boxes are made and left for the next shift.
o Allowed only 2 hours worth of boxes or totes at press.
· If assigned roving floorperson, required to do sorts, make boxes, give breaks and do housekeeping.
· Keep checklist current at all times. If press goes down or an order is complete, return sheets to supervisor.
· Make sure that everything is cleaned if press goes down in order to avoid confusion when next mold goes in.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Machine Operators:
- Communicate with operator from preceding shift to review and discuss problems and the status of the machine. If the operator is not present, read the log book.
- Compare the work order with the sample (first piece), daily production report (first piece inspection checklist), labels and components at the machine.
- Responsible for the normal operation of the machine, including the overall appearance and functioning ability of the parts being produced.
- Responsible for proficiency in the use of foils, gages, scales, and charts needed at the machine.
- Compare the work order with QA approved sample, daily production report and artwork.
- Communicate with Quality Assurance on all quality problems.
- Know all relevant SOP’s.
- Keep the machine and adjacent areas clean and uncluttered. Keep scrap caught up, sweep and wipe machine down.
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Work Environment and Safety Requirements:
- Moderate noise level, hearing protection required
- Agree to follow all departmental and corporate safety policies at all times
- Comply with company uniform policy
- Personal Protective Equipment (safety glasses, ear plugs, hair nets) worn at all times
Salary: $20.00/hr. base pay $1/hr. shift differential for 3rd shift.
Job Type: Part-time
Expected hours: 16 per week
Schedule:
8 hour shift, start time 11:30 PM Friday night until 8 AM Saturday morning; 11:30 PM Saturday night until 8 AM Sunday morning.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Erie, PA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- Related experience and/or training as Packer, Operator and Bin Filler.
- Product knowledge.
Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
