What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeping Manager position at The Plaza Hotel and Suites?
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the daily operations of the housekeeping department
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas
- Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain high standards of cleanliness
- Train and supervise housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks and monitoring performance
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring proper stock levels are maintained
- Collaborate with other departments to coordinate guest requests and ensure timely completion
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards
- Handle guest complaints or concerns related to housekeeping services
- Maintain records and prepare reports on departmental activities
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of hotel housekeeping management practices and procedures
- Experience in custodial or commercial cleaning, preferably in a hospitality setting
- Excellent leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
