Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to join our team at our nursing home facility in New York State. As an integral part of our leadership team, the ADON will assist in managing and overseeing the daily operations of the nursing department to ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. The ADON will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services, supervise nursing staff, and ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the daily management of the nursing department, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of care to all residents.
- Supervise, mentor, and provide leadership to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs).
- Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures for nursing care that align with current regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure that all nursing services meet or exceed New York State Department of Health (DOH) regulations and quality standards.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
- Participate in the development and review of individual care plans for residents, ensuring appropriate care interventions are in place.
- Oversee the administration of medications and treatments, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and ensure the safe and efficient delivery of nursing services through regular rounds, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between nursing staff, families, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal care and communication.
- Participate in care conferences, discharge planning, and resident assessments as needed.
- Assist in the development and management of departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Ensure nursing staff is educated and compliant with infection control, safety protocols, and emergency procedures.
- Stay updated on nursing trends, regulations, and evidence-based practices.
