Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Para Educator to join our team and support the educational development of students. As a Para Educator, you will work closely with teachers to assist in classroom activities and provide individualized attention to students who require extra support.
Duties
- Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and activities
- Provide one-on-one support to students with special needs
- Help maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support classroom management and behavior reinforcement
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and adapt curriculum for diverse learners
- Assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs
- Clerical tasks, attendance reporting, lunch count, data keeping.
- Attends staff meetings.
- Provides physical care and emotional support
- Displays calmness and control when dealing with behavioral problems
- May assist students with personal needs like feeding, toileting, ambulation.
- Monitor student progress and communicate effectively with teachers and parents.
Requirements
- Experience working with children or students in an educational setting
- Knowledge of childhood development principles
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques
- Understanding of special education practices
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
- Signing skills are a plus
- Must be okay lifting up to 65lbs
- Must be comfortable working with special education students
Education and Experience
HS Diploma or equivalent
No Child Left Behind (NCLB) compliant (possession of an AA degree or 48 semester units from an accredited college, or passing score on the District NCLB Exams)
Certifications Required
Standard CPR and First Aid
Details
Schedule: M-F; temporary
Pay: Starting at $18.12 based on experience.
Location: Amador County
