Sr. Program Manager

The PMO Squad is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager for a long-term contract (with potential contract-to-hire opportunity) with our global cybersecurity client. This person will have experience leading projects with a strong focus on strategy, implementation, cross-project and department alignment, and will be responsible for overseeing successful delivery of implementations for internal customer projects within the client's Digital Solutions department.

Duration: ~12-mo. contract | Contract-to-Hire opportunity

Pay: $75 - $80 / hr. | ~40 hrs. / wk.

Location: Columbia, MD | Hybrid - 2 days / wk. onsite; must be able & willing to meet onsite requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and direct one or more large-scale, complex programs often involving multiple internal and external constituents and matrixed partners (or several smaller projects).
• Effectively manage interdependencies and complexities within programs individually managed and collaboratively across the portfolio.
• Ensure program end results are of high caliber with a clearly articulated scope and quantifiable business value.
• Make day-to-day decisions in concert with corporate strategy, portfolio alignment and project objectives.
• Facilitate and drive working sessions with internal customers and stakeholders to plan projects and elicit requirements and/or business processes (as needed) to guide successful outcomes.
• Define and track project milestones by creating, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated plan using waterfall methodology, iterative delivery, kanban, or agile framework.
• Chair recurring core program team, regular customer team and periodic stakeholder meetings to review program progress with key constituents
• Conduct retrospectives with key stakeholders and development teams.
• Drive and support multiple workstreams to ensure program goals are reached.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in routinely briefing key stakeholders on aspects of assigned projects.
• Effectively manage and prioritize your time to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Qualifications:

• Experience: 8 years of Program Management experience managing software development and/or IT projects including IT Infrastructure and implementations. Ability to navigate a matrixed organization effectively. Management consulting experience preferred.
• Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, IT, or comparable experience in lieu of degree. PMO certification such as PMP, CSM, CSPO, PSM I /II strongly preferred.
• Environment: Must have experience managing programs in post-merger and acquisition environments. Possess the ability to keep up with a fast-paced work environment and execute with limited information and ambiguity.
• Knowledge: Core knowledge and applied use of project management methodologies, tools and processes preferred including Agile Framework, SDLC, and Jira. Google Suite / GCP. ServiceNow.
• Communication: Mastery of clear and precise verbal, written, and group communication at all levels; should be comfortable escalating to senior leadership as needed. Strong presentation skills both visually in assembling a deck and in delivery.
• Collaboration: Ability to deliver tough messages cross-functionally and with grace. Be able to quickly earn the trust of sponsors, and key stakeholders, including customers. Motivate and mobilize teams; build broad, collaborative networks.
