What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Service Manager position at The Point?
The Point is one of the Jersey Shore’s hottest attractions. Bringing positive vibes set in a tropical tiki bar oasis with views of the bay. Offering casual island style dining and refreshing cocktails under the stars. Featuring live entertainment daily. We have three locations in Sea Isle, Somers Point, and Wildwood.
The Food Service manager is responsible for both the FOH and culinary operations. The ideal candidate would have strong experience being able to lead both the FOH and BOH teams. The working period for this position is February through November with time off in December and January.
Responsibilities:
- Flexible attitude and team player
- Able to work in the kitchen and FOH
- Must have extensive kitchen experience
- Strong leadership skills
- Able to multitask with the management team
- Manage the front and back of house of the restaurant
- React to guest issues in a timely and professional manner
- Coordinate inventory control and management procedures, quality control projects and physical inventories
- Assisting in the oversight of cash management and ensuring accountability for best cash management practices
- Maintaining a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by following and enforcing sanitation standards
- Perform other job related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s Degree in Hotel/Restaurant management or similar discipline, preferred. Will consider equivalent business experience or combination of courses and certifications
- At least three years’ of experience in a sous chef, restaurant manager, food service manager, or similar role within a high volume environment
- Hands-on management style that emphasizes direct involvement in the day-to-day operation
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Experience with MS Office applications and The SpotOn POS System (or similar system)
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Driver’s license, required
- Ability to work at all three locations
