What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager - Production position at the Polynesian Cultural Center?
Manages and oversees the Technical Services staff in ensuring proper maintenance and replacement of audio, projection, lighting, special effects and associated equipment and programs, while managing and overseeing the Audio, Visual and Lighting operations teams in their day-to-day preparation and in-show operations in compliance with established policies and procedures. Assists the Theater Director in developing, interpreting and implementing policies and procedures for performing required functions. Recommends repair and replacement planning and installation of equipment. Audits employee conformance to established practices. Ensures proper training of staff, prepares related reports, and audits current procedures for improved efficiency.
Essential Functions:
- Manages, coordinates, provides leadership to and reviews the day-to-day departmental operations in accordance with the organization’s standards of excellence, including through direct daily/ nightly oversight/ performance.
- Manages all troubleshooting operations of electrical and electronics systems and/or equipment failures. Provides consultation for projects requiring electrical or electronic equipment and systems re-enforcement.
- Coordinates all departmental and inter-departmental operations, including operational and technical troubleshooting training for all pertinent operators.
- Prepares periodic reports regarding the department's activity and progress.
