Retail Associate JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview: The Retail Associate is responsible for promoting and ensuring excellent customer relationships. Answers customer questions and assists with sales transactions. The Retail Associate reports directly to the Retail Manager.
Classification: Non-Exempt
Primary Responsibilities:
- Answers customer questions and assists with sales in a timely and professional manner.
- Follows customers through the sales process. Rings out customers as necessary.
- Educates and informs customers with the goal of helping the customer make good choices in regards to purchases. Tests water as necessary.
- Answers store phone and responds to customer questions in a professional and helpful manner.
- Completes store opening and closing task lists. Ensures store is locked and secure after business hours.
- Stocks inventory as necessary. Keeps store clean and well maintained in accordance with the uniform company image.
- Handles customer payments in a responsible manner, maintaining an accurate till. Balances tills at closing time.
- Assists Inventory Manager as necessary.
- Meets “Standards for Service” guidelines at all times.
- Ensures a safe and pleasant store environment for customers and other staff.
Other Responsibilities:
- Participates in required store trainings.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including phone skills.
- Excellent attitude in relation to customers, staff and supervisors.
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Basic math skills.
- The ability to maintain a positive attitude, good humor and patience in a busy environment.
Education & Work Experience:
No previous retail experience necessary.
Excellent attitude and communication skills required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
