Job Description
Title of Position
Service Technician
Overall Responsibility
Service technician is responsible for cleaning and caring for each client’s swimming pool site with efficiency and professionalism.
Specific Responsibilities
- Work – Employee is required to be at work on time and begin the workday promptly.
- Prepare Service Vehicles – Check service vehicles daily to insure that they are in proper working order and have the proper amount of supplies.
- Driving – Employee will be responsible for their issued service vehicle and obeying all laws of the road as well as rules listed in Employee Handbook.
- Caring for Clients Site – Employee will enter each site with professionalism and caution. Gates are to be closed as you enter and exit. All conversations with clients should be professional and polite.
- Cleaning Pools – Employee is responsible for cleaning swimming pools including, but not limited to, skimming surface debris, brushing walls, vacuuming, cleaning skimmer baskets (including expired animals), cleaning lint pot baskets.
- Chemistry – Employee will properly test the chlorine and Ph balance upon arrival. Chemistry will be administered as needed to each site to maintain proper chemical levels. As instructed you may also need to administer algaecides, water clarifiers, salts or any other chemicals needed to care for the site.
- Caring for the Filtration System – Employee must check all aspects of the filtration system on each visit. This includes, but is not limited to, checking the pressure gauge, checking system o-rings, checking time clocks and making sure they are synchronized, removing impeller jams (when needed).
- Filter Cleanings – When needed and/or instructed filter tanks must be cleaned. Cartridge or grid elements must be removed and sprayed off (check with manager for location to clean at each site). Filter elements must be checked thoroughly for wear and tear, weak spots or holes and reported immediately if found. All parts of the inner filtration tank must be checked including the tank band o-ring. For DE tanks you must administer DE after tank is put back together with the system running.
- Care for Pool Sweeps - Pool sweeps are to be checked every visit. Leaf bags and baskets are to be emptied and thoroughly cleaned. Pool sweeps must be checked to see if they are in proper working order. They must be checked for obstructions or broken and worn pieces.
- Check Water Levels – If water levels are low contact manager for protocol regarding individual sites.
- Manual Water Fill – If water is left turned on at any site it must be recorded the time and date it was turned on and the time and date it was turned off. Manager must also be notified.
- Area Appearance – Employee will take extra care of our clients by making sure the pool and equipment area are in a reasonably kept manner. This includes, but is not limited to, stacking pool toys neatly, spraying off a dirty deck (away from the pool) and removing any trash around the area.
- Communication – Employee is required to check in with manager at least every 3 pools unless instructed to do so more often. Employee must be thorough in all communications and relay any information requested by manager such as condition of property, any conversations with clients and reporting any broken or worn parts.
- Must physically speak with manager before departing final location to end day, and willing to pick up additional work as needed by The Pool Pro.
- Parking Trucks – Trucks will be parked and cleaned up at the end of the day as per managers’ instructions.
- Shop Tasks – Any task asked by manager to move business forward. Includes, but is not limited to, shop clean-up, clerical assistance and inventory checks.
- Hot Sheet - Check company “Hot Sheets” daily to insure that all required parts get to their respective destination.

Qualifications
- Good work ethic, including good customer service skills
- Clean DMV Record (required upon hire)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to be self motivating (“self starter and self finisher”)
- No colorblindness (reading color coded tests required for job)
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather elements including heat, cold, rain and wind
- Able to swim
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
