What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Technician position at The Popcorn Factory?
- Follow & enforce all Safety and Food Safety Guidelines
- Ensure HACCP plans are being followed, CCPs are within tolerance and take appropriate actions to correct
- Verify process production monitoring activities are being performed properly and tolerances are being met. Lot codes, weights and measures, visual appearance, labeling, packaging, etc.
- Enter Inspection report into QC Software
- Write inspection reports to capture information and submit to QX Supervisor/delegate employee
- Work with warehousing to perform receiving inspection on incoming materials
- Monitor cooler temperatures
- Assist QA Supervisor as needed in procedures, development, compliance, labeling and nutritional's
- Work with all areas to improve GMP compliance
- Assist in the completion of all other assignments given by QA Supervisor in a timely manner
- Foster a respectful team environment that supports workplace values through professional communication, motivation, and timely problem resolution
- Assist in preoperational inspections through visual inspection and swabbing (ATP, allergen)
- Conduct environmental swabbing as scheduled in the SOP
- Work with associate and management team as needed at other off-site facilities
- Monitor refrigerated and frozen items at room temperature as needed
- Responsible for following all food safety guidelines and reporting any issues to management
- Communicate quality issues to Supervisor so that immediate adjustments can be made
- Maintain and actively support safety programs by immediately addressing safety issues
- Maintain reasonable and reliable attendance
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Previous food manufacturing experience with 6 months in quality control preferred
- HACCP experience
- SQF experience preferred
- Good basic math skills (including percentages, fractions, and decimals) are required
- Experience with Microsoft Suite
- Demonstrated comprehension skills are required to understand general label requirements, lot code formats, procedures, diagrams, flow charts and written specifications
PHYSICAL DEMAND
- Able to work in demanding circumstances (crowded conditions, cold storage (40°) for entire shift
- Able to walk and stand for the entire 8 to 10 hour shift
- Minimum 40-hour work week (Additional hours including weekends may be required during peak seasons)
- Able to lift up to 30lbs continuously and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
