About the Role
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Business Diversity-Capacity Building, in the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI), the selected candidate will be responsible for the certification of eligible firms to participate in various Port Authority and Federal business diversity programs, including the Port Authority's Minority, Women-owned and Small Business Enterprise (WBE) programs and the federal Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) programs. Responsibilities include the supervision of the staff, including consultants, responsible for the review of certification applications.
Certification application review efforts include analysis of business documents, contact business owners for additional information, perform on-site visits, update several databases and interaction with staff from internal department such as the Law Department, Inspector General's Office, Procurement, Engineering, Aviation, and the Secretary's Office. The Senior Business Certification Analyst must ensure the timely review and submission of determination and recommendations to the certification manager as well as ensure the confidentiality of applicant information by maintaining a secure records management system that adheres to Port Authority procedures as well as applicable federal guidelines.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Position must have supervisory experience of 2 years or more in managing a team.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
- Experience reviewing business documents such as business plans, article of incorporation, bylaws, stock ledger and stock certificates, Dunn and Bradstreet reports, personal net worth statements, business contracts, leases, and buyout agreements.
- Knowledge of small business accounting, auditing, and financial statement analysis
- Familiarity with corporate federal tax forms
- Knowledge of files / records control (data entry, classification, storage and retrieval)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to set priorities and work on multiple tasks
- Individual should be a self-starter and extremely detail oriented with ability to function under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and written and communication skills.
- Experience working with B2G database software.
- Proficiency in working with PC applications, such as. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Must have a valid New York and / or New Jersey driver's license. Occasional site visit is necessary to complete the certification review process.
