About the Internship
The Geotechnical Engineering group is responsible for the investigation and design for all projects and structures involving earth or rock engineering. Our capabilities are at the forefront of this engineering field and involve subsurface investigations and design analyses for all the Agency facilities. Our goal is to provide cost effective, safe, and appropriate engineered solutions for all Port Authority projects.
ResponsibilitiesAssist staff Geotechnical Engineers in performing foundation design and analyses.Prepare sketches and / or edit drawings using AutoCADAnalyze subsurface investigation and / or instrumentation monitoring data using Excel Spreadsheet.Minimum Qualifications
Enrollment at a college / university through Summer 2025 and into the Fall 2025 semesterMajor in Engineering with at least one (1) undergraduate level course in Soil Mechanics or Foundation EngineeringDesired Qualifications
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)Internship Details
The start date will be Thursday, May 29, 2025The internship will last approximately 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 22, 2025This is a full-time internship (5 days per week at 7.25 hours per day)The format is expected to be hybrid, partially in-person and partially virtualSelection Process
