What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maritime Operations Billing Analyst position at The Port of Seattle?

As a Maritime Operations Billing Analyst, you will facilitate financial control for Port properties and customers in the Maritime Operations. You will implement monthly customer billing while driving continuous billing-process improvement and also provide administrative support for the Maritime Operations Management Team.
You will prepare billing and accruals for moorage facilities and track detailed occupancy monthly.
You will research and process credit adjustments and retrieve financial data from various sources.
You will perform reconciliation using technical, analytical, and system skills to ensure billing accuracy, completeness, and timeliness while coordinating with the Port's Accounting and Financial Reporting (AFR) staff to ensure smooth and accurate transfer of information.
You will analyze financial data retrieved from the Port's financial systems to research customer inquiries.
You will create and implement efficiencies in the billing process using complex formulas, functions, macros, and pivot tables.
You will support the Maritime Operations budgeting process, analyze budget variances, and support findings.
You will develop historical revenue and expense reports to support annual budget forecasting.
You will act as a Corporate Purchase Card (P-Card) user by reconciling monthly purchases, prepare and process purchase requisitions, payment requests, monitor expenditures, and resolve any discrepancies.
Who you are :
Experienced - You have two (2) years of progressive billing or accounts receivable experience, to include invoicing, reconciliation, and analysis, with proficiency in financial reporting tools.
Desired - We hope you have a bachelor's degree in finance or business administration. We hope you have a Microsoft Excel Certification, preferably at the Expert level, or a Tableau Certified User or equivalent.

Efficient Communicator - You possess excellent written, verbal and electronic communication skills. You can take initiative to facilitate clarification, follow-through and provide updates. You also possess seasoned customer service experience to serve as liaison for colleagues and external consultants.
Detail-Oriented - You have detail-oriented skillset to maintain a high level of accuracy for complex accounting and finance transactions, documentation and protocols. You are skilled in extracting and combining financial data from multiple systems to respond to questions from the organization. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Technically Skilled - You have strong working knowledge of productivity software applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and intranet / internet. You have advanced knowledge of electronic document management storage systems (SharePoint), including strong functional knowledge of permission set up and content creation. You also have expert knowledge in the use of Excel using pivot table, filters, formulas, functions and macros.
What else you need to know :
Work Schedule - Your normal work schedule will be Monday - Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. (40 hours per week). Slightly more flexible start and end times are available in this role.
Work Environment - You will primarily work in an office environment at Terminal 91. Hybrid remote may take place following the six (6) month probationary period, at manager's discretion.
Safety Requirement - You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements. Must wear Personal Floatation Device (PFD) when required on the docks.
Washington State Residency Requirement - Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
Overtime Eligible - You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
