JOB TITLE: Audiology/ENT Assistant
SUPERVISOR: Branch Manager
HOURS PER WEEK: 40hrs (M-F 7:30am-4:30pm)/Non-Exempt
DEPARTMENT: Nursing Services
HIRING BONUS: $1,000 after 90 days

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To assist our audiologist performing checks on hearing aids and other amplification devices. This will include performing troubleshooting and minor repairs to hearing devices, as well as patient education on best practice for using their device. This position will also support this department with scheduling of appointments and administrative work such as checking in new devices, sending hearing aids our for service and insurance benefit checks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
1. Clean, check and perform troubleshooting and minor repairs of hearing aid devices (including battery check/replacements).*
2. Deliver post-fitting orientation.*
3. Manage patient education on hearing care and device maintenance.*
4. Collaboration with our clinical team to streamline patient care and reduce wait times.*
5. Maintain inventory of audiology supplies and clinic devices.*
6. Conduct warranty checks.*
7. Send out and tracking of hearing aid orders, those sent out for repairs and those returned for credit
8. Conduct benefit checks for potential hearing aid patients and relaying information to our patients relating to financial requirements.*
9. Collection of deposits and balances for hearing aids.*
10. Scheduling of appointments for our Audiologist.*
11. Support ENT practitioners and provide backup support to ENT Resource Scheduler.*
12. Work queue support for our audiologist (processing referrals).*
13. Participate as an active care team member in a patient-centered medical home.
14. Maintain regular, in person, work attendance and punctuality, as scheduled.*
15. Comply with HIPAA and OSHA guidelines at all times to ensure patient and staff safety.*
16. Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR Certification
- Basic understanding of Medical Terminology
- Basic understanding and proficiency of documentation in the EHR
