JOB TITLE : On-Call Sleep Center Clinical Technician
SUPERVISOR : South Branch Manager
HOURS PER WEEK : Variable
DEPARTMENT : Sleep Center
HIRING BONUS : $500 after 90 days

PRIMARY FUNCTION : The Sleep Technologist administers nPAP set ups on patients that have completed their sleep studies and have been prescribed nPAP therapy. The technologist is also responsible for on-going follow-up with the patient to insure patient compliance. The sleep technologist also instructs patients on the use of home sleep test devices. The technologist performs daytime sleep studies as needed 2-4 times per month.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)
1. Educate patients on Apnea links, home sleep test equipment and overnight oximetry and checkout / in equipment.
2. Perform patient nPAP set-ups in the sleep lab setting. To include : patient education in the use and care of prescribed equipment, mask fitting and nPAP acclimation.
3. Score overnight sleep studies and home sleep studies within designated metric as determined by Sleep Center Provider. Oversee timeliness of scoring and work to resolve any scoring report delays.
4. Review physicians orders and patient chart information to determine patient condition and that treatment protocols are complete.
5. Contact patients after their study and inform them of follow-up and next step procedures. Schedule patient as necessary and according to physician recommendations.
6. Document and maintain records of patient therapy and compliance outcomes.
7. Perform follow-up procedures to determine efficacy of patient compliance while on therapy per protocols.
8. Perform MSLTs and MWTs when needed, M-F.
9. Assist with nPAP resupply.
10. Clean, sterilize, check and maintain all nPAP equipment and accessories.
11. Assist in resolving patient equipment problems.
12. Clear and compassionate communication with patients.
13. Follow safety standards in all aspects of performance of the above functions, reports / removes unsafe equipment and attends safety meetings and clinical education sessions as required.
14. Work closely and communicate on an on-going basis with Sleep Center Provider, Branch Manager, and Sleep Center Team. Perform other duties as required.
15. Travel to other clinics to see patients as needed.
16. To be on-call during evenings and weekends to answer questions about home sleep tests.
17. Attend work regularly and arrive to work at scheduled time.
18. Work respectfully and collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
19. Participate as an active team member in a patient-centered medical home
20. Back up night testing as needed.

Fax machine
Multi-line phone system
Computer with Microsoft Office including Excel and Access database usage
Home sleep test equipment
EDUCATION / LICENSES REQUIRED :
Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist through the Oregon Health Licensing Agency
Current CPR license
EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED :
CPAP / Bi-Level patient administration and appropriate mask fitting
1 - 3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist
Organized and self-motivated
Effective oral and written communication skills
Salary : $500
