Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and maintaining sterile equipment and supplies, assisting surgeons during procedures, and maintaining a safe and clean operating room environment. Additionally, they will assist in the transport of instruments, maintain inventory levels, and participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have graduation from a Scrub Technician training program and certification through either the state, NCCT, or NBSTSA, or have practiced surgical technology during at least two of the three years immediately preceding January 1, 2017 in a health care facility in Oregon or in another state or as an employee of an agency or institution of the federal government and every two years completes 16 hours of continuing education approved by the authority. Basic understanding of infection control, ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations, skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients and staff, and proficient computer skills are also required.
