Role Requirements:
As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the smooth operation of our warehouse and distribution processes. Your responsibilities will involve handling, organizing, packaging, and transporting materials efficiently to support our commitment to delivering exceptional products and service to our customers. Experience in the plumbing and/or HVAC industry is preferred, but training will be provided for individuals who are committed to learning and are eager for an opportunity to grow. Additionally, this person will service as backup driver for the branch when staffing or volume dictates.
To be successful in the primary warehouse role, you must demonstrate:
- Material Handling: Safely and efficiently handle a variety of plumbing and HVAC products, including pipes, fittings, fixtures, and equipment.
- Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment, ensuring timely and error-free deliveries to customers.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels by performing regular cycle counts, restocking shelves, and updating inventory records.
- Equipment Operation: Utilize material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, to move products within the warehouse while adhering to safety guidelines.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for accuracy and quality, reporting any discrepancies or damages promptly.

As a backup driver, you must also demonstrate:
- Proficiency in following GPS/delivery schedules: Delays on the route result in our customers having to delay their own projects, so ensuring we get to our delivery locations on time and in an efficient route is imperative.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills: Our customers are the heart of our business, and drivers are the face of the company during deliveries and pickups. Drivers are the link between the customer and the branch location, so building a relationship and relaying customer feedback to the appropriate management team member allows us to constantly improve our processes.
- Attention to detail: Inspecting deliveries upon drop off and returns upon pickup for accuracy, completeness, and damage is crucial. Drivers must be able to cross reference packing lists and credit memos with the items being physically dropped off and picked up to prevent billing errors and project delays.
In addition, to be considered for this role, you must meet the following basic qualifications:
- Valid driver's license required
- Successful completion of a preemployment drug screening and background check
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Preferred possession of a DOT Medical card
