The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is looking to fill a full-time housekeeping supervisor/lead! We are a beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland's Old Port District.
Duties include: Cleaning of guest rooms, make beds, vacuums, clean bathrooms, dusts and empties trash. We provide our guests with the highest level of quality service.
Hours are approx.: Mon-Fri 8:30AM-3:00PM Sat/Sun 9:00AM-4:00PM Weekends/Holidays are required.

Summary: A Housekeeping Supervisor assists the Assistant Housekeeping Manager and Executive Housekeeper by monitoring the work activities of housekeeping staff to ensure that they provide a clean, orderly, and attractive environment for guests. They assign duties accordingly while inspecting all aspects to make sure everything meets industry standards and guest satisfaction. This position is to ensure the cleanliness of all overnight rooms and/or public areas. Performs top quality inspections to meet required standards within set time limits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: Other duties may be assigned.
- Inspects overnight rooms, and enters property management system, in a timely manner.
- Checks rooms and common areas, including stairways, hallways, banquet rooms, offices, spa, restaurants and lounge areas, for cleanness.
- Check Housekeeping carts to ensure they are fully stocked and double checks for any lost and found items.
- Assists with chemical delivery and stocks appropriately in the laundry room.
- Completes Maintenance work orders and/or notifies Maintenance, as needed.
- Performs and Assists Room Attendant, Laundry, Houseperson duties, for training purposes and as needed.
- Assists with training new Housekeeping staff including educating staff on cleanliness, tidiness and hygiene standards.
- Assists with assigning daily room assignments to Room Attendants.
- Assists with overseeing staff on a daily basis.
- Assists with ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation policies in all areas.
- Assists with schedules and arranges replacements in cases of absences.
- Assists with responding to guests’ complaints and special requests.
- Ensure that all Lost and Found items are secured and logged properly.
- Maintains employee morale within the department. Notify Executive Housekeeper and/or Assistant Housekeeping Manager when issues arise.
- Communicate with Front Desk personnel for guest requests. Answers telephone/radio in a polite, courteous, and efficient manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Assists with supervising of 10-14 people per shift. Promptly reports any violation that has been reported to them. To include but not limited to: Harassment, safety concerns, code of conduct, and wage and hour concerns.

Mathematical Skills
The ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide by 10’s and 100’s. The Ability to perform these operations, using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals in required.
Reasoning Ability
The ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Also, the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations shall be required as a job description.
