The Post and Courier is seeking applications for its paid summer internship program.
We are looking for talented students or recent graduates to spend 10 weeks working in a Post and Courier newsroom as a full-time reporter, photographer/videographer or digital journalist. We will accept three interns this year (2 reporters, 1 photographer). The 10-week experience will be designed around the strengths and goals of the interns we hire. In your cover letter, describe your ideal internship, share how you would use it to grow and what you would bring to our collaborative newsroom.
A growing, independently owned news organization based in beautiful Charleston, S.C., The Post and Courier’s local ownership has deep roots in the community and cares deeply about this newspaper and its reputation. In addition to Charleston, we also will consider placing summer interns in our newsrooms in Columbia and Greenville. Interns are paid $13 per hour for a 37.5-hour work week; they will be responsible for producing daily journalism just like the rest of the full-time staff.
