- Event Planning & Coordination:
- Plan, organize, and execute student-focused events, including orientation programs, social events, educational workshops, cultural activities, and leadership development initiatives
- Coordinate logistics such as venue booking, catering, audiovisual equipment, and transportation
- Work closely with student organizations, faculty, and campus departments to ensure event success
- Student Engagement:
- Foster an inclusive environment where all students feel welcomed and encouraged to participate in campus life
- Develop strategies to increase student participation in campus events and activities
- Serve as a liaison between students, faculty, and staff to ensure student needs and interests are represented in events and initiatives
- Marketing and Promotion:
- Create and manage event marketing materials, including flyers, social media posts, and email newsletters
- Utilize campus communication channels to promote events and programs effectively
- Monitor student feedback and engagement to assess the success of marketing strategies and adjust as needed
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all expenses are within allocated funds
- Track spending and ensure cost-effective solutions for event needs
- Collaboration and Partnerships:
- Collaborate with campus departments, student organizations, and external partners to enhance event offerings and ensure alignment with institutional goals
- Build and maintain relationships with community vendors, guest speakers, and performers
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain records related to events, budgets, and student engagement metrics
- Provide support for student leadership development programs and activities
- Assist in preparing reports and assessments of student engagement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Student Affairs, Communications, Event Planning)
- 2 years of experience in event planning, student services, or a related field
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with diverse student populations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for events
- Experience in student engagement, event planning, or higher education
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing techniques
- Experience with budget management and financial oversight for events
