The Pottery Stop is looking for outgoing and upbeat team members to join our Create Crew. The perfect applicant is someone who has the personality, patience, and enthusiasm to uplift the creative experience for our guests. Art experience is NOT necessary!

Job Title: Team Member
Working Hours: 6 to 14 hours per week with flexible and consistent availability Fri Night, Sat, and Sun. Candidates with additional availability Thursday evenings and Mondays may be eligible for up to 20 hours total.

- Must be 18 . Junior Team Members must be 16 .
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or food service preferred.
- Proficient in verbal and written English, with great basic math and computer skills.
- Have reliable transportation to and from work and ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Team Member responsibilities include:
- Greeting, assisting, and serving customers
- Providing accurate information to visitors on products, techniques, pricing, etc.
- Providing clear and easy to follow instructions for visitors of varying experience levels and ages
- Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, including cleaning the studio, tables, and supplies
- Multi-tasking while working the studio floor and assisting guests, including answering phone calls/texts in a friendly and efficient manner and taking table reservations
- Using Square POS and iPads to check out guests and handle cash and credit card transactions accurately and completely
- Wrapping finished customer orders for pick-up
- Processing orders, including unloading kilns, assisting with glazing, and matching and contacting finished orders
- Leading and instructing parties and workshops for kids and adults in a confident and efficient manner
- Putting away inventory and supply orders as they arrive and restocking shelves and supplies as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and professional appearance
- Contributing to a positive team environment at the studio by learning from and effectively communicating with teammates.
Pay: Team Member pay starts at $16/hr if 18 . After intro training period (60-90 days), staff will join tip pool. Staff average an additional $2-4/hour to their base pay after tips, particularly on weekends. Raises are evaluated approx. every 6 months and may be skill, responsibility, or performance based. Formal performance reviews to be held yearly.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Extended time on feet; must stand, walk, or move extended periods of time, often the entirety of the shift (6-8 hrs).
- Lifting of boxes and/or supplies between 5-50 pounds (inventory, kiln furniture, clay glaze, etc.)
- Stretching, twisting and bending to load/unload kilns or clean.
- Crouching, stooping or kneeling to stock or retrieve pottery/supplies or clean.
- Climbing and balancing on ladders/step-stools to retrieve pottery/supplies or clean.
- Fine motor skills to handle pottery, tools, and supplies.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information, both in person and by telephone.
- Specific vision requirements include close & distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Most work is performed inside the studio and at a moderate noise level. Occasionally employees will assist customers outdoors or work with a tools at a higher noise level.
- Work is also performed in a kiln room with elevated temperatures and using mechanical parts/items (eg: Kilns, Dremel tools, drills).
Opportunities for Advancement:
Studio Team Members may grow into Team Leads.
