The Site Supervisor is a front-line supervisor position responsible for meeting TPL’s service commitments by managing the day-to-day train operations within a territory or terminal and the train crews associated. The incumbent is responsible for learning the operation and organizing the Location to ensure train departures and operations are performed safely, efficiently and in compliance with governing regulations and TPL’s operating rules. The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for all operations in a 24/7 capacity or based on the customer’s needs.

Primary Purpose:

Responsible for safe, efficient, and scheduled train performance on assigned territory.

Principal Duties:

Ensures annual rules classes are held for train service employees and verifies compliance with the rules by monitoring performance on a continuing basis.
Provides support in investigating accidents and injuries to determine cause and minimize future occurrences.
Plans the operation of local trains to provide required service to customers and fulfill service requirements.
Requires a good working knowledge of safety and operating rules, train operations, FRA regulations, hazardous materials, labor agreements and corporate policies.
Requires ability to operate track switches, couple cars, maneuvering onto and off of equipment, and perform work around freight trains.
Develops, motivates, and trains employees who work in the assigned territory.

The incumbent will manage the day to day operations of a 24/7 location.

Job Related Experience:

Minimum Level: 1-2 years Preferred Level: 3-5 years

Education:

Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (BS)

The role has irregular hours (including nights, weekends, holidays). The incumbent will work in a combination of an office environment and the outdoors in various types of weather and environmental conditions. The Transportation Supervisor has an overall commitment to safety, while working in conjunction with the customer.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
