We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Animal and Estate Caretaker to oversee the day-to-day care of a small, private 8-acre farm with a close-knit animal family: a mini pony (age 15), a mini donkey (age 12), a sheep (age 4), and two cats. This role is ideal for a compassionate animal care professional with a strong work ethic and a commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and harmonious environment while respecting the privacy and needs of the family.

This role is perfect for someone who loves animals, enjoys hands-on work in a peaceful, natural setting, and takes pride in maintaining an organized and beautiful estate.

Key Responsibilities:

Animal Care and Feeding:

Manage daily care and feeding schedules, diet specifics, and administer medications as required. Conduct regular grooming and ensure animals are equipped with protective outerwear and pest deterrents as needed.

Grounds and Barn Maintenance:

Inspect pasture areas daily for hazards, including broken fences, holes, or debris, before morning turnout. Ensure access to clean water and hay; maintain cleanliness and functionality of water units and pasture areas. Clean animal enclosures, manage daily waste disposal, and keep barn areas tidy and organized. Perform routine maintenance and groundskeeping and maintenance tasks. Troubleshoot and resolve minor issues independently, demonstrating resourcefulness, and initiative. Communicate any concerns or issues related to animal health, equipment, or property maintenance promptly and clearly.

Supply Management:

Monitor and restock feed and animal care supplies, notifying when inventory is low. Maintain bird feeders and water stations across the estate grounds.

Equipment Checks and Safety:

Perform routine checks on barn appliances and farm equipment, report repair needs or any operational issues that may impact the farm or animal care.

Qualifications:

· Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in animal care, ideally with farm or estate animals.

· Strong familiarity with the responsibilities of animal care, including feeding, grooming, and basic medical needs.

· Must be dependable, have reliable transportation, and be able to provide professional references.

· Background checks will be conducted to ensure a safe and secure environment.

· Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

· Ability to operate small machine equipment (e.g., Gator, mowers, trimmers, chainsaw)

· Reliable, trustworthy, and self-sufficient with excellent attention to detail in animal care.

Ideal Candidate Traits:

· Discreet and professional, with a high level of respect for the privacy and unique needs of the family.

· Compassionate and attentive with a keen sense for animal welfare.

· Reliable and proactive, with the ability to identify and address animal or estate care needs independently.

· Organized and detail-oriented, maintaining a clean and orderly barn and outdoor environment.

· Physically capable of handling the tasks required, with an appreciation for outdoor work in various weather conditions.

· Experience in a vet tech role is highly desirable.

· Prior Veteran

This role demands the utmost professionalism and discretion, ensuring that the family's privacy and unique requirements are consistently respected.
