Summary
Principia is looking for a Director of Extended Day Care to oversee activities and childcare for Preschool through Middle School students. In this role, you will plan and implement after-school programs, organize childcare on non-school days, and manage the summer program for children ages 4-10. Your leadership, organizational skills, and ability to create engaging, age-appropriate activities will be key to your success. Reporting to the Principal – Lower School, you will play a critical role in providing safe, enriching experiences for students outside of regular school hours. You’ll collaborate with the Marketing Department to design promotional materials and streamline registration processes, as well as hire, train, and supervise adult and student workers.

Primary Responsibilities
- Initiate and direct all aspects of program preparation, implementation, and completion
- Establish a comfortable and productive recreation/learning environment for students; provides a welcoming, clean, organized, and structured atmosphere for parents and children
- Promote spiritually-based character education through program elements and individual interactions; holds students to right actions
- Serve as parent contact from registration through program participation; reconcile Marketplace payments with attendees; address discipline issues with parents when necessary
- Plan and implement engaging and creative activities that are varied and educational, and meet the wide range of interests and needs of children
- Work effectively and collaboratively with assistants to address the needs of the children
- Fulfill administrative responsibilities which include, but are not limited to: scheduling, purchasing of snacks and supplies, maintaining accurate payment records and informing the Accounting Office of fees, arranging for substitutes, training, supervising, conducting student interviews as needed, training and evaluating student workers and assistants, approving student time cards, and placing facility TMA’s

Minimum Qualifications
- Student of Christian Science

- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- Educational/recreational experience with children; Ability to develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate activities for students
- Understanding of child safety and behavior management strategies
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality relating to students, colleagues, and the operations of the school
- Open to suggestions for improvement and willingness to implement changes as needed
- Experienced swimmer; lifeguard or W.S.I., preferred
- Willingness to turn readily to God for guidance
