The Production Farm is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 Behavioral and Mental Health Agency serving Northeast Wisconsin communities (Manitowoc & Sheboygan counties). We provide outside the box programming to help youth play, connect and grow through arts programming, community engagement and much more. Services we provide include psychosocial skill development, mental health education, psychotherapy, and school-based interventions for groups.
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in maintaining HR processes, employee engagement, and compliance while providing high-quality support to staff. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
HR Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain HR files for all employees, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Conduct annual reviews of HR staff files and BID renewals.
- Coordinate with the CFO on HR processes, including insurance disability and BID renewals.
- Implement new policies after approval from management meetings.
- Submit monthly supervision documentation to respective counties.
- Regularly review and manage employee-related documentation, including incident reports.
- Collaborate with Training Coordinator on employee credentialing queries.
- Monitor and ensure training compliance in partnership with the Training Coordinator.
Employee Support & Engagement
- Schedule onboarding sessions for new hires and serve as the benefits point of contact.
- Manage EAP access and distribute relevant information in coordination with managers.
- Organize and lead weekly HR Huddles, work anniversary gifts, and employee engagement events.
- Be available to respond to TPF staff questions and concerns.
- Create a set schedule with 'open office' hours at each location.
- Attend relevant huddles and meetings, addressing employment-related concerns.
- Conduct 30- and 60-day check-ins with employees.
Event Planning & Coordination
- Plan and coordinate employee events, including:
- Employee Appreciation Picnic
- Spring Self-Care Events (twice per year)
- Employee In-Service Training Events
- Work with the Development Director to establish event budgets, sponsorships, and gifts.
Performance Review & Oversight
- Manage the monthly performance review cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide oversight and feedback to managers on review documentation.
- Ensure compliance with performance review deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of HR experience, preferably in an HR operations or specialist role.
- Strong understanding of HR compliance, documentation, and employee relations.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience planning and coordinating company events.
- Proficiency in HR software and Google Business Suite
