Job Description
A leading global automotive supplier, is actively seeking a highly motivated individual to be part of the North America and Europe team that has a fast growing hybrid and electric vehicle components portfolio direct to the OEM’s. The General Manager for North America operations in North America will oversee the business development, sales, product technology, production and management. Your role is crucial in driving new business and customer relationships, operational efficiency, maintaining quality standards, and budget targets to meet the demands of the automotive industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive customer, technology and manufacturing operations with financial stability for automotive electric and mechanical oil pumps as well as other mechanical e-product technologies, aligning with business objectives and market demands.
- Collaboration: Work closely with global teams and HQ in China to develop cross-country relationships and synergies, using global shared support.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage budgets effectively, implement cost-saving strategies, and maximize profitability.
- Market Analysis and Customer Relationship: Stay informed about market trends, technological advancements, and competitor activities in the industry to identify growth opportunities and maintain competitiveness.
- Technology Development: Collaborate with HQ product development teams and Customers to bring cost efficient products through development, cost management and into production.
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a diverse team of professionals specialized in electric oil pump production, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Production Management: Oversee all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production scheduling, quality control, and inventory management.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain stringent quality assurance processes to ensure reliability and performance.
- Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with suppliers, logistics partners, and internal teams to optimize the supply chain and ensure seamless production flow.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and advanced manufacturing techniques to enhance efficiency and reduce production costs.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements within the manufacturing operations.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the efficiency and effectiveness of electric oil pump manufacturing processes.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Extensive experience in automotive, specifically in electric oil pump production is a plus
- Proven experience in leading and managing sales, product development, manufacturing teams in a dynamic and competitive environment
- Proficiency in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong stakeholder relationships
- In-depth understanding of industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards
- Analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making and problem-solving
- Willingness to travel as needed and engage with global teams and partners
