Responsibilities:
- Understand client’s needs, advise them of their rights and options, and develop strategies to meet those needs.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence.
- Represent clients in litigation in state and federal courts and in settlement negotiations.
- Collaborate with team members to help our clients.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting property insurance claims.
- Maintain organized case files and documentation for all matters handled.
- Communicate regularly with clients and referral sources to earn and maintain their confidence.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in Texas.
- Strong research and writing skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues.
- Federal litigation experience is required.
- 5 years’ experience with first party property insurance claims is required.
- Ability to manage a caseload of 80 – 100 contingency fee cases, from client intake through 542 letters, all stages of litigation, and trial.
- A proven track record of producing meaningful settlements, usually in 8 – 12 cases per month.
Base Salary: From $70,000-$100,000/ year incentive compensation based upon settlement dollars generated for our clients. Strong performers will earn significantly more than the base salary and control their own ability to be very well compensated.
