Job Description: The GVI Assistant Project Manager (APM) will act in a support/supervisory role, thereby providing support to the GVI Project Manager, York City Police Department, and the City of York government. This position will assist in the development and implementation of collaborative groups, workgroups, etc. to support the GVI framework, address prevention and aftercare for individuals and communities impacted by violence. Maintaining a free flow of information between stakeholder organizations to ensure fidelity to the GVI strategy and inform best practices of service delivery is essential. The APM will be required to engage with the community to assess resources and needs, convening workgroups and/or meetings as needed to focus efforts and plan events for the community. The APM will oversee all credible messengers while establishing trusting relationships with identified disparate population groups that strengthen the patient-provider relationship and improve patient care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist the PM with directing the implementation of Group Violence Initiative (GVI) in

the City of York and function as the day-to-day APM

  • Assisting the PM with supervisory duties
  • Assisting the PM with daily routines
  • Meet with high- risk individuals and groups to discuss issues.
  • Implementing and maintaining collaborative workgroups
  • Build and maintain partnerships with social service providers.
  • Work with law enforcement lead in developing an outreach response.
  • Provide oversight of community partners to develop a strong, holistic community vision that promotes healing and creates structural and systemic change to address known root causes of violence
  • Facilitate prevention and aftercare strategies to individuals and communities impacted by violence.
  • Identify gaps in service availability and delivery and report to governing body(s), stakeholders, and other entities as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and/or perform Custom notifications, Community Prevention Response to Victims of Violence (CPRVV), and Call-Ins
  • Work to prevent acts of violence and help to prevent all potential retaliatory shootings.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the coordinated street outreach program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions- Hospital Specialiation

Conduct initial bedside visits.

  • Provide immediate crisis response to patient and family support system.
  • Act as a liaison between the family and hospital staff.
  • Develop and present an activity log that shall describe activities/ meetings and how they relate to a clients plan of care.
  • Actively participate on community coalitions and boards as an advocate for specific populations and as a liaison for Wellspan Health.

Job Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a social or human service-related field, or a combination of experience and education in a related field.
  • Excellent organizational, written, and oral skills
  • Proficient public speaker/presenter
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Be willing to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Be able to, at times, work independently without direct supervision.
  • Independent judgement and decision-making abilities are necessary to apply technical skills effectively.

Expected Hours of Work

Work schedule is flexible and dependent on organizational needs. Weekdays are typical but occasional evenings/nights/weekends are possible. Availability in an “on call” capacity is expected for this exempt (salaried) position.

Working Conditions

  • Some office setting, but also will require field work.
  • Position will at times be subject to traumatic events consisting of emotional conversations and details of crimes.
  • Must be comfortable working at the York City Police Station
  • Must be comfortable working closely with York City Police Officers.
  • Must be comfortable with working closely with the community.

Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Driver’s License.

Must pass a background check, Drug Test, and the PA Child Abuse History Clearance check.

Note: Child Abuse History Clearance must be dated within one year from the date of the application and must show that “no record exists”.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $55,000.00 per year
