The Progress Center has a unique opportunity for seasoned Direct Support Professionals who would like to bridge the experience gap between being a Direct Support Professional and a Residential Coordinator!
DUTIES:
1. Leads the team in the day to day tasks in maintaining the home in compliance with state regulations and ensures that the health and safety of all residents
2. Oversee the completion of high quality and timely daily documentation in the EHR and conducts daily shift change documentation audits, provides guidance to staff on Mainecare and HCBS compliant documentation.
3. Completes monthly MARs for residents, discontinues and adds orders for new medications as prescribed by physician for residents in compliance with CRMA guidelines. Ensures that residents are attending regular appointments and supports them in attending as needed.
4. Creates an environment orientated to trust, open communication, creative thinking & cohesive team effort.
5. Facilitates solution based problem solving & collaboration with Coordinator and Manager
6. Collects PEX card receipts and uploads them in the app monthly as well as collects visa receipts ensures that they are completed when checked against the statement and sends to finance monthly
7. Ensures that monthly menus are posted in the home and that all residents participate in creating the menu, shopping for food of their choice and that we always have at least a 3 day supply of food on hand.
8. Ensures maintenance of the home by completing monthly health and safety checklist in collaboration with the maintenance department, and conducting monthly fire drills do to the Manager of Operation and QA department by the 15th of each month; creates work orders when necessary.
9. Keeps the management team informed of accomplishments & ongoing issues; participate in achieving resolutions to identified issues.
10. Acts in the best interests of the organization and those for whom it provides care.
11. Maintains quality and standards of the organization in all areas of responsibility.
12. Ensures that rights afforded by the Home and Community Based Setting Rule (HCBS) is followed and a culture of empowerment for the people we support is cultivated in the home
13. Supports staff in working with the residents in achieving the goals outlined in their person centered plan
14. Works with the coordinator and scheduler to ensure safe staffing levels are maintained at all times and provides additional coverage as needed.
15. Attends monthly Leadership Meetings as well as additional leadership trainings to continue to grow as leaders within the organization
JOB REQUIREMENT:
Undertakes expected working hours as indicated by company (including weekends)
Assists in the implementation of the philosophies and policies of the company
Ensures that each resident has their needs met through effective assessment and care planning. Reviews and monitors plans.
Supports and participates in Residents' daily care plans.
Monitors all DSP records and supports staff to develop positive working relationships with Residents.
Promotes choice and involvement in accordance with HCBS regulations. Ensures all Staff Members work in a way that demonstrates an understanding and commitment to the rights of people being supported.
Encourages and enables Residents to maintain acceptable levels of personal and environmental hygiene.
Coordinates with other agencies/professionals as necessary in conjunction with Managers.
Administers medication in accordance with Company policies and procedures, and ensures that medical emergencies are dealt with appropriately. Adheres to the Company's medication policy at all times.
Ensure that Residents' personal property, bedroom and clothing is maintained to a high standard.
Practices maximum integrity in all dealings with Residents' personal and financial affairs.
