Job Summary:
The Providence Center Crisis Stabilization Unit (TPC CSU) provides short-term care for patients experiencing an acute psychiatric and/or substance use crisis that could escalate to a point of requiring hospitalization. As an alternative to hospitalization or as a step-down for a transition between levels of care, the CSUs services focus on stabilizing clients and addresses their mental health and substance use needs.
TPC CSU Residential Assistant is responsible for the provision of residential Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) services, consumer care, monitoring facility and activities during assigned shift. Facilitating groups to help consumers build positive coping skills. Experience working with a mental health.
Schedule: 2nd shift: 3:00pm to 11:00pm, including some weekend shifts. Flexibility to also cover some 1st/3rd shifts preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Residential Assistant will perform, coordinate and monitor the daily non-clinical operations of the program.
Provide intake and orientation of new clients into the community.
Conduct tour of the facility and make introductions.
Problem solve and provide other support to clients as needed. Serve as a role model. Assist in new client admissions.
Review rules and regulations, issue linens, assign bedrooms, sign appropriate releases, gather birth certificates and social security cards, etc.
Work as part of a team providing a safe, therapeutic environment for clients.
Facilitate community meetings and groups.
Ensure a safe, clean and healthy living environment.
Complete required reports and evaluations.
Maintain strong boundaries, while treating each client with respect and dignity.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Advanced education preferred.
Experience working with a substance abuse population is strongly preferred.
A candidate must have at least 4 years in recovery, if applicable.
Bilingual candidates preferred and encouraged to apply.
Must have a valid driver's license and insured auto.
