About the Position
This one-year residency program offers structured mentorship, hands-on experience, and professional development opportunities for Resident Primary Care Nurse Practitioners. You will work under the supervision of board-certified Primary Care Nurse Practitioners and Physicians, gaining valuable clinical skills while providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct medical evaluations, develop accurate diagnoses, and formulate treatment plans in accordance with clinical best practices.
Perform physical health examinations, preventive screenings, and medication management.
Prescribe therapeutic interventions and administer medications as required.
Monitor and support patients' self-care management and provide necessary health education.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and clinical assessments to evaluate patient needs.
Utilize evidence-based practice to triage clinical emergencies and implement safety protocols.
Document clear and concise clinical impressions and treatment plans.
Requirements
Registered Nursing degree and a relevant Master's degree in Nursing.
Certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Active Connecticut APRN license and Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Active DEA controlled substance registration and Connecticut controlled substance registration.
Ability to acquire and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
