POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Marketing & Audience Engagement will lead strategic initiatives to drive ticket sales, enhance audience engagement, and elevate the overall patron experience. Reporting directly to the President & CEO, this role will oversee the Front of House & Sales Manager, as well as contracted or part-time Social Media Managers and Graphic Designers. The Vice President will ensure that all marketing, sales, and audience development strategies align with the organization's goals and deliver exceptional experiences for all visitors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and sales strategies to promote performances and events. Identify and target key audience segments, tailoring campaigns to maximize engagement and revenue. Work closely with senior leadership to ensure marketing and sales strategies align with organizational objectives.
- Marketing: Oversee the development and execution of multi-channel marketing campaigns, with a focus on email marketing, social media, and website management. Leverage market insights and trends to inform and refine strategies across these channels. Track and report on campaign performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize engagement and outcomes.
- Advertising: Design, build, and manage media buys and digital ads to ensure maximum reach and return on investment while maintaining a cohesive brand presence across all platforms.
- Communication: Direct the creation and dissemination of compelling content across all communication platforms. Ensure consistent and effective messaging aligned with the organization’s brand and goals. Collaborate with internal departments to maintain cohesive communication strategies.
- Audience Development and Experience: Lead efforts to attract new audiences while retaining and deepening relationships with existing patrons. Supervise the Front of House team to ensure superior customer service and an exceptional audience experience. Innovate audience engagement activities, including lobby events and bar sales, to enhance visitor satisfaction. Analyze audience feedback and data to refine strategies and improve experiences. Build partnerships with community organizations to expand outreach and engagement efforts.
- Creative Direction and Graphic Design: Collaborate with designers to produce visually impactful marketing materials and create graphic designs as needed. Maintain brand consistency across all visual and promotional assets. Oversee the production of visual content, including graphics, videos, and playbills, ensuring high-quality outputs.
- Public Relations and Earned Media: Establish and maintain strong relationships with media outlets and journalists. Develop and execute public relations strategies to enhance organizational visibility. Coordinate press releases, media events, and interviews to promote key performances and initiatives.
- Sales, Box Office, and Concessions Management: Oversee box office operations, ensuring efficient, customer-focused ticketing processes. Collaborate with the Box Office Coordinator to monitor sales trends, analyze data, and implement strategies to increase revenue. Partner with the Front of House & Sales Manager to ensure seamless customer service and boost concessions sales through innovative initiatives. Utilize sales data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth and optimize revenue streams.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and support the Front of House & Sales Manager and Box Office Coordinator, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. Provide training and professional growth opportunities for team members.
- Budget Management: Develop and oversee the marketing and sales budget, ensuring cost-effective strategies and initiatives. Monitor financial performance and adjust strategies to meet budgetary goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Graphic Design, Theatre/Nonprofit Management or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in marketing, preferably in the arts or entertainment industry.
- Proven experience in audience development and engagement strategies.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing software, tools, and platforms.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
