Summary Of Position
The grant writer will oversee and support all grant writing efforts. The grant writer will organize all solicitations and requests for proposals in the public and private sectors. The Chief Operations Officer will determine what opportunities are most appropriate for the organization. The lead grant writer, with the Chief Operations Officer, will organize and delegate what staff are most appropriate in the completion of proposal writing by understanding present programming and organizational strengths and opportunities for growth.
TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Takes a key role in the oversight and implementation of all grant writing and funding sources regarding all programs to fulfill the mission and purpose of the PRCC within the community of wellness perspective
- Write to support all development efforts in maintaining funding sources, protocols, and procedures
- Supports all fundraising with quarterly reports of such activities presented to the COO
- Provides support in program sustainability within purview including programs funded by private, local (city and state), and Federal grants
- Works with all grants to make sure that internal and external reports are completed and submitted in a timely fashion to ensure that deadlines are met
- Supports access and protocols for database grant submission portals with current passwords and access to local, internal databases with PRCC documents
- Supports the completion of all required reports
- Completes mandatory training
- Supports all responsibilities of PRCC Development staff including regular meetings with staff and updates on grant submissions and continuation applications and required reports
- Attends the PRCC and program-specific and organizational activities and meetings, including but not limited to the monthly organization-wide General Assembly
- Participates in organizational annual events including but not limited to the Puerto Rican People’s Parade, Fiesta Boricua, Three Kings Day, and Haunted Paseo Boricua
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree with relevant experience of 3 years in Federal and local grant writing with an understanding of grant submissions.
- Experience in Program Coordination
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred
- Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills
- Works independently with a strong sense of focus, task-oriented, non-judgmental, open personal qualities, and clear sense of boundaries
