The Operations Manager [OM] is responsible for keeping track of the big picture of an e-commerce warehouse, identifying potential areas of improvement, tracking KPIs and managing a growing team. The OM creates, implements and maintains processes that ensure financial responsibility and an excellent customer experience.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Take ownership of all warehouse processes and look for opportunities to improve efficiency, save time and money.
- Organize the safe and efficient receipt, storage and shipment of warehoused goods
- Purchase materials and supplies in a timely manner to not interrupt daily workflow or customer experience
- Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and training
- Hire, train, and guide warehouse staff to ensure KPIs are hit
- Using strong communication skills to foster a culture of innovation and productivity
- Maintain warehouse IT including software, computers, and iPads/scanners
- Process orders and optimize daily pick/pack strategy when needed
- Ensure inventory accuracy across all platforms
- Analyzing data and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
- Negotiating contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure the best pricing
- Develop and maintain good relationships with vendors and suppliers
The Ideal Candidate
- 5 Years of experience in a management role
- Experience with leading a team of at least 10 members
- Quick learner and a creative problem solver who is detail oriented with a keen ability to identify process and organization gaps
- Obsessed with product quality, customer experience and operational excellence
- Thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment where flexibility, adaptability and nimbleness prevail
- Strong verbal communicator that address issues immediately with accountability and empathy
- Thorough understanding of operational processes and principles
- Savvy with software and IT
Experience
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated prior successful management of people and processes. Business degree with emphasis in logistics or management preferred or 5 years experience in related fields.
Hours: 7:00am-3:30pm M-F
