Summer STEM Academy Teacher

The Quarry Lane School is looking for a Summer STEM Academy Teacher for grades 1-3.

Session Dates:

• Session 1: June 17-July 5 one day of prep (closed June 19 and July 4)
• Session 2: July 8-26
• Session 3: July 29-August 9

Session Hours:

• Sessions run from Monday-Friday: 9:00am - 3:00pm with a 30-minute lunch built in.

Salary:

• $4,500 for the three-week sessions.

Position Summary:

The Lower School Summer STEM Teacher is responsible for general supervision of the students, implementation of the STEM summer curriculum, and management of the classroom.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Arrive promptly for your shift and be ready to work- day should be ready ahead of time.
• Maintain an impeccable attendance record.
• Use Tadpoles for attendance.
• Implement all safety and health policies of the Quarry Lane School and the State of California.
• Be prepared to administer CPR/ First aid.
• Provide proper visual supervision.
• Plan, supervise, and implement the curriculum in accordance with STEM Summer program, Quarry Lane School policies.
• Be responsible for the ordered arrangement, provocation, appearance, and décor of the classroom. This will include sharing the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff.
• Regularly maintain classroom bulletin boards displaying student work.
• Maintain close communication with the Director and parents regarding student issues, conferencing as deemed necessary.
• Implement and maintain our non-punitive method of classroom discipline, utilizing redirection to correct student behavior.
• Perform daily tasks and responsibilities with integrity, making effective use of time schedules without requiring reminders to complete tasks.
• Treat all children with dignity and respect.
• Demonstrate patience and self-control in dealing with students and staff.
• Display energy and enthusiasm, maintaining evident interest in the job.
• Contribute and share ideas freely with other staff members.
• Use appropriate language in and out of the classroom.
• Follow the QLS Appearance Policy.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $4,500.00 per month
