What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Assistant position at The Quarto Group?
Quarto’s Special Markets Sales Assistant plays an integral role in supporting, maintaining and growing the special markets business channel. This role requires a self-motivated and energetic person that excels at customer service, has exceptional organizational skills, collaborates to improve processes and efficiencies and is energized by multitasking. This position is the main support for Special Markets and will manage the day-to-day requests from both in-house team leads as well as 3rd party reps.
This position is a hybrid workplace position with 3 days per week required in NYC office or Beverly, MA office.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT FUNCTIONS
- Provide general administrative support including but not limited to coordinating sample and catalogue mailings, running reports, creating presentations, developing and organizing sales materials, and maintaining customer database.
- Provide administrative support to 3rd party reps including but not limited to new account set-up, order processing and tracking, helping curate title selection for customer appointments, and sending samples.
- Provide administrative support for both direct and in-direct key accounts: sampling, item set-ups, inventory reservations, and order tracking.
- Cross departmental collaboration to maintain and update Quarto’s title offerings for holidays, seasons, topics, etc.
- Research new account opportunities.
- Liaise with Marketing and Publishers to procure materials for sales presentations.
- Travel to Gift and Trade shows as needed.
Minimum Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Teams.
- Excellent customer service and follow-up skills.
- Must be highly organized and have the ability to prioritize workload.
- Proven ability to work in fast-paced deadline driven environment.
- Must be a highly organized and a self-starter.

Education and Experience
Required
- High School diploma or equivalent
Desired
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Experience in book publishing
