JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides inpatient and outpatient hepatology and transplant services for The Queen’s Medical Center patients through direct patient care and teaching and supervision of residents from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned students from other programs.
- Participates in development of the GI Fellowship program at The Queen’s Medical Center.
- Serves as a faculty member for the GI fellowship program at The Queen’s Medical Center.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides hepatology/transplant services, including consults at the request of ER physicians and QMC Medical Staff.
- Provides hepatology services at the QMC Liver and transplant Center.
- Shares hepatology services on-call coverage for the Medical Center according to current protocol.
- Provides transplant/hepatology services.
- Supports the Liver Transplant program through direct patient care and participation.
- Charge tags and documentation all done accurately, legibly and in compliance with QMC guidelines, CMS regulations, and PATH rules. Completes documentation when service is delivered and submits charges no later than one week after the date of service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (EC FMG) certification.
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology and transplant hepatology.
- Fellowship in Gastroenterology and/or transplant hepatology.
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
- During the period of employment, shall be and remain a member of the medical staff in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.
- Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Base salary begins at $457,445/year with opportunity for productivity and quality incentives.
