Our Gastroenterology Clinics offer a full range of consultative and procedural services for patients with gastrointestinal conditions as well as preventive colon cancer screening exams.

JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology/hepatology services for The Queen’s Medical Center patients through direct patient care and teaching and supervision of residents from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine and assigned students from other programs.
- Participates in development of the GI Fellowship program at The Queen’s Medical Center.
- Serves as a faculty member for the GI fellowship program at The Queen’s Medical Center.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides gastroenterology/hepatology services, including consults and endoscopy services to ER patients and hospital inpatients at the request of ER physicians and QMC Medical Staff.
- Provides gastroenterology/hepatology services at the QMC Liver Center.
- Shares gastroenterology services on-call coverage for the Medical Center according to current protocol.
- Provides gastroenterology/hepatology services.
- Supports the Liver Transplant program through direct patient care and participation.
- Charge tags and documentation all done accurately, legibly and in compliance with QMC guidelines, CMS regulations, and PATH rules. Completes documentation when service is delivered and submits charges no later than one week after the date of service.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Medicine or Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (EC FMG) certification.
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Fellowship in Gastroenterology. Trained in Gastroenterology with appropriate liver disease management experience during GI fellowship.
- Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Hawaii.
- During the period of employment, shall be and remain a member of the medical staff in good standing with appropriate privileges without restriction.
- Qualified for an appointment on the faculty of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine.
Base salary begins at $457,445/year with opportunity for productivity and quality incentives.
