What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM Coordinator position at The Quest Organization?
Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and maintain BIM models for projects during preconstruction and construction.
- Review contract documents, identify issues and develop solutions in coordination with the Project Management team
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, engineers, and other trade contractors to ensure clash detection and resolution.
- Coordinate BIM execution plans (BEPs) and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Conduct model-based coordination meetings and provide clash reports using Navisworks.
- Support field teams by generating shop drawings, spool sheets, and as-built documentation.
- Ensure BIM standards and best practices are upheld throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in pre-construction planning and visualization using 3D modeling.
- Work closely with project managers, drafters, and engineers to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in BIM coordination, preferably within a mechanical subcontracting or MEP environment.
- Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Trimble, etc.)
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, and plumbing.
- Experience with clash detection and coordination workflows.
- Familiarity with common data environments (BIM 360, Procore, etc.).
- Understanding of process from pre-con to final build including BIM coordination, prefab and service
- Understanding of fabrication process and production of accurate drawings
- Ability to interpret and modify construction documents and drawings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
